2020/2021 COVID Protocol Penn High School & Kingsmen Lacrosse

THIS IS FOR CURRENTLY REGISTERED 20/21 PLAYERS ONLY

Due to COVID-19, Penn Kingsmen Lacrosse will be following the IHSAA and Penn High School Athletic’s COVID-19 Protocol. It is EVERYONE’S responsibility to keep our club safe. It is better to be safe, get tested and quarantine 10-14 days than to lose an entire season. Please, we ask you to be responsible and follow all the recommended guidelines.

Below is an outline of the IHSAA & Penn High School Athletics protocol, but we request both PLAYER AND PARENT/GUARDIANS review the included forms in their entirety. You will need to accept that you read each form to complete your Covid protocol registration. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Protocol For Indoor/Outdoor Practices:

  1. Clean all equipment/DO NOT share equipment

  2. Hand Sanitizer will be available at every practice.

  3. Players MUST wash hands prior to practice. Only small groups will be allowed in the  restrooms at a time. If restrooms are not available, hand sanitizer will be provided.

  4. Masks MUST be worn when entering the facility and when NOT in rigorous activity.

  5. Coaches MUST wear masks at all times.

  6. Coaches MUST take attendance and if possible keep players in small groups.

  7. We will keep the same small groups each practice. This makes it easier for contact tracing if we have a positive test. This way only a few will need to quarantine instead of the entire team.

  8. All players and coaches must bring their own water bottles.

  9. Social distance as best as you can.

If Your Player Is Not Feeling Well ...

  1. Player should notify the Coach and let them know the symptoms.

  2. Player stays home to monitor symptoms. If COVID-19 related symptoms it is recommended that a COVID-19 test is administered or written clearance from a doctor before the player is allowed back to practice. Quarantine is recommended (Coaches will document).

  3. If a player is tested, Coaches will communicate with the player and those considered in close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more).

  4. The guidelines set forth by the Indiana State Department of Health Covid-19 Screening for Parents Tool (2 page document) in regards to testing, isolation and quarantine will be followed. (Document link will be in the “signature” section of this registration.)

Steps After Notification of a Positive Case:

  1. Players must notify Coaches, Athletic Department and Building Principal of a positive case. (Coaches will have documentation from the initial symptoms to trace who might have been in contact with the player.)

  2. The AD will notify the ESC and a letter will be sent to all families of the program.

  3. ESC will contact the Health Department.

  4. Contract tracing in take place.

  5. The guidelines set forth by the Indiana State Department of Health Covid-19 Screening for Parents Tool (2 page document) in regards to testing, isolation and quarantine will be followed. (Document link will be found in the “signature” section of this registration.)

  6. The team/group will take a pause (length to be determined) on all team/group activities.

  7. A team shut down may be necessary as deemed necessary.
